Looking for an easy way to share files and notes between devices? The Drop feature in Microsoft Edge might give you the easy solution you’re looking for. And since Drop is built right into Edge, it’s easy to use and available on any device with Microsoft Edge installed. There’s no need to look for an extension.
Note: Since Drop uses your Microsoft account, you will need to be logged into Edge for it to work.
How to Use Drop
On a PC, click on the Drop icon (the paper airplane icon) on the right of the browser and a panel opens. If you’ve hidden the menu on the right of the browser, click on the Copilot button in the upper right and the side menu will appear. You’ll find the Drop icon there.
This is where you can make notes and drop files from your computer to have them available on any device with Edge installed.

If you’re on your phone, tap on the three lines on the bottom right of Microsoft Edge and choose Drop. You can type a note or click on the + in the blue circle in the bottom left to add a document, picture, video, or photo from your phone. This is also where you can retrieve files and notes saved in Drop.

Send a Web Page to another Device
If you’re on your phone and want to send a web page to your PC, simply tap on the three lines at the bottom right of the browser for the menu to appear. Swipe to the left to bring up the next page of options, then tap on Send to devices.

A list of devices you’re logged into will come up. Choose the device you want to send the web page to and you’ll be notified to open the web page on that device.
To open a web page from your PC on your phone, you can copy the web address and add it to Drop. You’ll get a push notification on your phone for the new Drop note. Open it and click on the link.
And that’s all it takes to share files, web pages, pictures and videos between devices with Microsoft Edge.
