Dead by Daylight: Nobody Can Hide from Chucky with this Scourge Hook Build

Dead by Daylight, Scourge Hook build for Chucky

Chucky plays best when he’s in chase, and this build plays off of that. It allows you to keep survivors running around and rescuing their teammates instead of doing generators. To accomplish this, you use the Lethal Pursuer perk and add Scourge Hook: Jagged Compass and Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage. The fourth perk can be anything you feel will help. I have two suggestions below. Let’s get into it.

The First Three Perks

Scourge Hook build for Chucky
  • Scourge Hook: Jagged Compass: whenever a survivor gets unhooked from a regular hook, it will turn into a scourge hook. The aura of the generator with the most repair will be highlighted for 6/8/10 seconds depending on the perk tier. This perk also gives a notification sound when a person is unhooked.
  • Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage: when a someone is unhooked, the aura of all survivors will be visible for 5/6/7 seconds depending on the perk tier.
  • Lethal Pursuer: the aura of all survivors will be seen for 7/8/9 seconds depending on the perk tier. It also adds 2 seconds to all aura readings.

Basically, Floods of Rage and Lethal Pursuer will keep you informed as to where the survivors are. This will allow you to keep them in chase. Jagged Compass will ensure you always have a scourge hook available, which is great for areas with low Scourge Hook density. This will also optimize the benefit you get from Floods of Rage. And since Lethal Pursuer adds 2 seconds to all auras, it will do the same.

The Fourth Perk

Scourge Hook Perks Dead by Daylight

The fourth perk can be anything you want. You can either use one that will get them to the final hook state faster, Scourge Hook: Monstrous Shrine, or injure them once they’re unhooked, Scourge Hook: Weeping Wounds. While I’ve seen benefits with both, Monstrous Shrine seems to do a better job of getting rid of those pesky survivors.

Scourge Hook: Monstrous Shrine: the 4 basement hooks and an additional 4 hooks will become Scourge Hooks. When you are further than 24 meters from the hook, the sacrifice progress will increase by 10/15/20% depending on the perk tier.
Scourge Hook: Weeping Wounds: 4 hooks will become Scourge Hooks. When a player is unhooked, they will suffer from Mangled and Haemorrhage for 90 seconds.

After hooking a survivor, I often head directly to the generator with the most progress. Jagged Compass will show you which generator that is.

In the video below, Chucky downs Ada, then is forced to put her on a regular hook. Because of Jagged Compass, that hook turns into a Scourge Hook when Ada is unhooked. Floods of Rage then shows all survivors’ auras. The video also has the notification sound Jagged Compass gives you for the unhook.

Add-Ons

The two Add-Ons below will give you more aura reading while performing Slice and Dice and Scamper. Of the two, Rat Poison seems to give more value. However, I probably don’t scamper as much as I should.

  • Yardstick: you see the auras of all survivors within 16 meters for 3 seconds when performing a Scamper.
  • Rat Poison: you’ll see the auras of all survivors within 6 meters for 2.5 seconds while preforming a Slice and Dice.

Lethal Pursuer will add 2 seconds to both aura readings, giving you that extra time to stay informed.

Below is a game I played using this build. Although I got a 4K, using Slice and Dice more often probably would have gotten me there faster.
